Hanaeleh is a non-profit horse rescue that is dedicated to finding homes for abused, neglected and unwanted horses. It also is working to end horse slaughter in the United States.

Lori and I saw Charley off on his journey today. He is going to retire in Florida instead of Tennessee so he will have more temperate weather in his old age, and have more people around who will be able to take care of him. He was a good boy- he took a little coaxing (and some grain) to get into the trailer, but after a minute he walked in like a trooper. He will spend tonight at the Fairplex and ship out tomorrow morning- he should be in Florida on Friday. For those who don't know, the horses are in stalls when they're shipped across the country like that- they have full access to food and water and the trailers are specially retrofitted to reduce any road vibrations. He will have a very nice trip! We will send updates and pictures as we receive them of Charley in his new home! Elizabeth |
